Schukostøpsel Blå 16A CEE Type 1 støpsel Mode 2 1-fas 230V 16A 3,7 kW Justerbar 5-12 meter ladekabel

METRON Raichu has come in a new version and is a mode 2 charging cable for electric cars and plug-in hybrids. It is supplied with a schuko plug or a blue CEE industrial plug towards the power socket, and with a type 1 charging plug (J1772) towards the car. The charging cable is adjustable between 6A/8A/10A/13A/16A and has a memory function that remembers the last selected setting (number of amperes) even if it is disconnected from the socket. Blue LED light on the charging plug shows whether there is power in the socket and which also indicates the current setting. With 16 amperes charging, you can charge 60% faster then with 10 amperes.

The charging cable has a built-in temperature sensor in the plug which will automatically reduce the amperage if it detects heat and will eventually interrupt charging if the plug gets too hot. METRON Raichu will automatically continue charging when no heat is detected. Thus, it will continue to charge your car safely and securely.

The charging cable is supplied with a premium cable (LAPP CABLE) from Germany. It is thin, soft and easy to handle even in low temperatures. It is also resistant to UV light, oil and is flame resistant.

Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) is built into the charging gun and thus the cable does not have the large "charging mess". The regulation of the current is done by holding down the release button and counting the number of light flashes for the number of amperes. Please read more about this under the "Questions and Answers" tab. For example, adjusting the amperage is practical when charging from old or older EL systems, so that you avoid an instance of overheating in the schuko plug. You can also avoid tripping the fuse if the current course is secured with less than a 10A fuse.

Example of charging time with a KIA Soul EV which has 27 kWh battery (0-100%):

 Amperage Charging Time
6A (AC 1,4kW) 16 - 20 hours
10A (AC 2,3kW) 10 - 14 hours
16A (AC 3,7kW) 8 - 10 hours

Questions and Answers

How do I adjust the charging current?

To adjust the charging current, hold down the release button and count the number of light flashes that appear on the top (blue LED light). The charging cable has a memory function, meaning it remembers the last selected setting (number of amperes).

Why is the blue LED light constantly lit when I'm charging?

The temperature sensor in the schuko plug (household plug) is indicated via a blue LED light. In the case of constant light during charging, the sensor has detected too much heat in the plug/socket, and thus interrupts charging. When the plug/ socket cools down again, charging will automatically continue and the LED light will then be switched off.

How does the charging cable indicate the different charging settings?

1) Blue LED-light: connected to the mains

2) Slow blinking at the beginning indicates the number of amperes:

1 blink - 6A
2 blink - 8A
3 blink - 10A
4 blink - 13A
5 blink - 16A

3) Slow blinking after the cable is connected to the car indicates that the car is charging
4) Quick blinking indicates an error
