Norway Price – can housing cooperatives / housing associations / co-owners order this?
Posted by KAROLINE OLSEN

Yes, it is possible. In housing associations, the board can order "Norgespris" (Norway Price) for electricity consumption registered at the housing association's metering point (typically common areas). Residents in housing associations who have their own metering points can order Norgespris for their own apartments/units.
A housing association includes housing cooperatives, housing limited companies, co-ownerships with sectional titles, and unsectionalized co-ownerships.
Housing associations are entitled to order Norgespris for common consumption within the housing association. Common consumption can, for example, be electricity for hot water, laundry rooms, heating of common areas, garage facilities, elevators, and residents' electric car charging. The chairman can order Norgespris on behalf of the housing cooperative.
Norgespris covers electricity consumption up to 5,000 kWh per month per residential unit (electricity meter) and electricity consumption up to 1,000 kWh per month per holiday home within the housing association.
In housing associations where residents have individual meters, residents must order Norgespris themselves for their unit.
