Energy Measurement Requirements for Charging Stations in Norway
Posted by KAROLINE OLSEN

In Norway, requirements have been set for the energy meter in such installations, not for the charging station as a complete metering system. Detailed requirements for energy metering can be found in the Regulation on requirements for electricity meters (the electricity meter regulation). There is a requirement for such meters to have MID conformity assessment if they are sold after 01.01.2025. Electricity meters used for measuring power supply to electric vehicles in commercial contexts, but sold before 01.01.2025, can be used without a conformity assessment.
The electricity meter regulation sets accuracy requirements for energy metering, regardless of whether a conformity assessment is present or not. This means that all measurement of power supply to electric vehicles in Norway must meet specific accuracy requirements set out in the regulation.
Justervesenet (the Norwegian Metrology Service) assesses that if deviations between the total amount of energy supplied by the grid company and the actual energy used by residents in housing cooperatives or condominiums are distributed over common expenses, there will be no requirement for conformity-assessed sub-meters. However, if it involves direct billing per consumer, it may be considered a commercial solution, and requirements for conformity-assessed meters will apply.
What is the difference between the different Easee models?
Posted by KAROLINE OLSEN

Easee has launched several models of charging stations, and there are often questions about the differences between them. Home chargers: These are designed for private homes and include: Easee Home, Easee Charge Lite, Easee Charge UP and Easee MAX.
All of these can be installed in a maximum of three units per system, with a maximum current of 40A. They can be combined in the same system, but not with any of the models for larger charging systems.
Charging stations for larger charging facilities: These are intended for businesses, condominiums and housing associations, and include: Easee Charge, Easee Core and Easee Pro.
These models allow an unlimited number of devices per installation, with a maximum current of 63A per circuit. They can be combined on the same installation, but not with any of the "home chargers".
In short, home chargers can be combined with each other, while models for larger facilities only work together.
Easee Partner

Elbilgrossisten has been working with Easee since 2018 and is an Easee Partner (EP). We are one of the few who have extended expertise in Easee and charging. This means we can remotely control the charging boxes as we have extended access. This means you only need the serial number (EH XXXXXX / EC XXXXXX / EU XXXXXX) when you contact us, and we will be able to log into your charging box to provide assistance. This is a service we offer to our customers so that they can get help as quickly as possible.
