The NexBlue Zen Smartmeter is a practical device that reads your electricity usage in real time and will optimize your usage by dynamically load balancing your input. ZEN supports solar panels so that charging can be done with excess power. It is perfect for smart meter situations and can communicate with NexBlue chargers via Wi-Fi or Nexus Radio Frequency locally.
This means you can use all available power for EV charging when your home's power consumption is low. This is very practical when you have a small main fuse, or limited capacity if there are many other things in your home that draw a lot of power.
ZEN is available in three different solutions, CT terminals , P1 and HAN plug.
NexBlue Zen SmartMeter is easily installed in the fuse box. With a simple configuration, NexBlue ZEN communicates with the charging station(s), via Nexus radio frequency or WiFi. The range of Radio RF is approximately 30-50 meters depending on location and building.
Smart power management
NexBlue ZEN allows charging of the car(s) to occur at the most appropriate time, e.g. when the demand for power for other products in the home/building is low. The radio frequency communication between ZEN and Edge ensures that the automatic dynamic load balancing continues to function if the connection to the cloud is lost or if there is a problem with your wireless network.

The HAN / P1 port must be opened for ZEN to receive data. This is done by contacting your network company and the procedure for the various network owners can be found here .
What is a HAN port?
Home Area Network (HAN) is a separate physical output (port) on your new automatic electricity meter (AMS meter) in your fuse box. On these electricity meters there is a so-called HAN port that you can activate if the grid company has allowed this. This port can give you detailed information about your electricity consumption. Easee Equalizer is compatible with all new AMS electricity meters in Norway with a HAN port.
Where can I find the HAN port on the various smart meters?
There are mainly three different AMS / Smart meters used in Norway and below we have marked (red circle) where the HAN port is normally located on the three different models. Please note that there are different models and the picture of the electricity meters may differ from the exact model you have.
According to the Electrical Equipment Regulations, Section 21, we are obliged to inform our customers that all electrical equipment intended to be part of a fixed electrical installation can only be installed by a registered installation company .

Does NexBlue fit all AMS electricity meters in Norway?
Yes, it fits all Norwegian AMS electricity meters as it comes with both HAN and P1 connections.
