Zaptec Sense P1 — Dynamic load management / main fuse balancing

With Zaptec Sense, you get even more power for electric car charging than you would otherwise get. Then you can charge faster, and charge more cars at the same time, without blowing the fuse - completely automatically. You install Zaptec Sense yourself in your fuse box with the Zaptec app. This means that you can use all available power for electric car charging when the power consumption in the house is low. This is very practical when you have a small main fuse, or limited capacity if there are many other things in the home that draw a lot of power.

What does Zaptec Sense solve?

If you have little electricity available in your house, you may risk the fuse blowing. To avoid a power outage, the electrician will reduce the power. This prevents the fuse from blowing when charging an electric car, but at the same time you do not utilize the available power. With Zaptec Sense, you will have the opportunity to utilize all the available power in the house. This means faster and safer charging.

What is a P1 port?

P1 is a separate physical output (port) on your new automatic current meter (AMS meter) in your fuse box. On these current meters there is a so-called P1 port that you can activate if the grid company has allowed this. This port can give you detailed information about your electricity consumption. Zaptec Sense is compatible with all new AMS current meters in Norway with a P1 port.

Where can I find the P1 port on the various smart meters?

There are mainly three different AMS / Smart meters used in Norway and below we have marked (red circle) where the P1 port is normally located on the three different models. Please note that there are different models and the picture of the electricity meters may differ from the exact model you have.

According to the Electrical Equipment Regulations, Section 21, we are obliged to inform our customers that all electrical equipment intended to be part of a fixed electrical installation can only be installed by an authorized and registered installation company .
