Earth (ground) fault circuit breaker 3 pole Type A in fuse box and charging station with built-in DC-RCM 6mA meets the requirements for DC protection according to NEK 400:2018 §722.531.2. Interpretation indicates that current-controlled earth fault protection type B or equivalent DC protection must be used on new current courses intended be used for charging electric vehicles or plug-in hybrids.

The earth fault circuit breaker/ combined automatic circuit breaker has (C-KAR) or C- Characteristic (tolerance time) permits a certain overload over a specified period of time. This is to allow, for example, any charging (and other things that require large starting currents) to be allowed to start with large currents without the machine having to switch off. The characteristic is determined by the electromagnet inside the fuse. Protection is available in all phases.
