EBG charging cable is a mode 3 type 2 to type 2 spiral cable for charging up to 32A/1-phase (7,4 kW). This spiral cable fits electric cars and plug-in hybrids with a type 2 connector in the car, (e.g. Nissan LEAF (>2018), Hyundai KONA/ IONIQ, Jaguar I-PACE) and fits charging boxes with type 2 connector/ outlet. A spiral cable is easier to handle compared to a normal straight cable. It also prevents the cable from having to lay in water, dirt and snow. This is a good solution for keeping the inside of your clean from such issues. |
Both plugs have a removable protective cover or cap to prevent dust and dirt from entering the plug while in storage. |

The contact surfaces/ pins are silver coated to provide least possible contact resistance as well as a high current carrying capacity. This reduces the risk of overheating and ensures an efficient transfer of current. |

Questions and Answers
Do I need a type 2 to type 2 cable? The need depends on your usage pattern and whether you live around places that have installed charging points with a type 2 outlet. There are beginning to be more of these in Oslo because it provides increased security. At the same time, there is a lot of wear and tear, increased maintenance and more use of the schuko contact. Thus it is only a matter of time before the majority of charging points in the capital consist of type 2 connectors. If you have both this cable and mode 2 charging cable (e.g. the supplied charging cable) in the car, you can charge your car in most places.
Which amperage of the charging cable should I choose? 32A or 16A? Generally speaking, we would recommend a 32A charging cable as this is more forward-looking if you choose to change your electric car or plug-in hybrid at a later time.
