Schukostøpsel Blå 16A CEE Type 2 støpsel Mode 2 1-fas 230V 16A 3,7 kW Justerbar 5-12 meter ladekabel

METRON Voltorb is a mode 2 charging cable for electric cars and plug-in hybrids that comes with a red CEE industrial plug to the wall socket, and with a type 2 charging plug (Mennekes) against the car. The charging cable is adjustable between 6A/8A/10A/13A/16A and has a memory function that remembers the last selected setting (number of amperes) even if it is disconnected from the socket. Blue LED light on the charging plug shows whether there is power in the socket and which also indicates the current setting. At 16 amps, you charge 60% faster than at 10 amps.

METRON Voltorb has a built-in temperature sensor in the sensor in the schuko plug (household plug) which will automatically reduce the amperage if it detects heat, and will eventually interrupt charging if the plug gets too hot. METRON Voltorb will automatically continue charging when no heat is detected. Thus, it will continue to charge your car safely and securely. The charging cable can also be supplied with a blue CEE plug.

The charging cable is supplied with a premium cable (LAPP CABLE) from Germany. It is thin, soft and easy to handle even in low temperatures. It is also resistant to UV light, oil and is flame resistant.

Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) is built into the charging gun and thus the cable does not have the large "charging mess". The regulation of the current is done by holding down the release button and counting the number of light flashes for the number of amperes. Please read more about this under the "Questions and Answers" tab. For example, adjusting the amperage is practical when charging from old or older EL systems, so that you avoid an instance of overheating. Likewise, you can avoid tripping the fuse if the current course is secured with less than a 10A fuse.

Do you need a storage bag (oppbevaringsbag) for your charging cable? Here, you can find top quality and roomy space starting at just 149,-

Questions and Answers

How do I adjust the charging current?

To adjust the charging current, hold down the release button and count the number of light flashes that appear on the top (blue LED light). The charging cable has a memory function, meaning it remembers the last selected setting (number of amperes).

Why is the blue LED light constantly lit when I'm charging?

The temperature sensor in the schuko plug (household plug) is indicated via a blue LED light. In the case of constant light during charging, the sensor has detected too much heat in the plug/socket, and thus interrupts charging. When the plug/ socket cools down again, charging will automatically continue and the LED light will then be switched off.

How does the charging cable indicate the different charging settings?

1) Blue LED-light: connected to the mains

2) Slow blinking at the beginning indicates the number of amperes:

1 blink - 6A
2 blink - 8A
3 blink - 10A
4 blink - 13A
5 blink - 16A

3) Slow blinking after the cable is connected to the car indicates that the car is charging
4) Quick blinking indicates an error

Renault ZOE is the only car in Norway as of today that cannot use the standard charging cable Type 2 mode 2 in all sockets regardless of the network system.
The charging cable Type 2 mode 2 in all sockets regardless of the network system. The charging cable should work if the charging cable is connected to a TN network, but unfortunately will not work in an IT network. Nevertheless, some start-up problems have been reported when charging with the Renault ZOE.

How do I know what type of network system I have at home?

It is most common with IT networks in Norway (approx 70%) and in an IT network system 230V enters the house which is distributed in the fuse box and the current meter is marked with 230V.

A TN network is most common in newer buildings (approx. 30%) and in a TN network system 400V enters the house which is distributed to 230V in the fuse box and the current meter is the marked with 400V.
