SIEMENS Earth fault circuit breaker/ earth fault protection meets the latest requirements of NEK 400:2014 §722.531.2. Interpretation indicates that current-controlled earth fault protection type B must be used on new current courses that will be used for charging electric cars or plug-in hybrids. This earth fault circuit breaker works as an excellent protection in new installations. SIEMENS earth-fault circuit breakers type B have been specially developed to provide correct disconnection in the event of AC and DC fault currents.

SIEMENS's earth-fault circuit breakers are CE and VDE certified, and the latter certification corresponds to NEMKO's in Norway. VDE stands for innovation and safety. Does the Earth fault circuit breaker need NEMKO certification in order to be used in Norway?
VDE certification from Germany is the equivalent to a NEMKO approval. There is, therefore, no need or requirement for NEMKO certification. SIEMENS Earth-fault circuit breakers are in accordance with current norms and standards for sale in Norway.
