LadeTrafo — Complete Charging Solution for Renault ZOE — 3,7 kW — 16A/1-phase — Type 2

A complete charging solution to be able to charge the Renault ZOE on a standard Norwegian IT power grid. The Renault ZOE has a charger that has problems charging on the Norwegian IT network. The Noratel LadeTrafo combines a specially designed isolation transformer with a type 2 charging box/ charging station and a 5 meter charging cable with a type 2 plug.

The charging transformer supports a continuous load of 3.7 kW and creates a galvanic separation between the E-works' power grid (primary winding) and outgoing course (secondary winding). Thus, one of the phases can be earthed so that you get an N conductor and the car perceives the load in the secondary network as a local TN-S power network.

The charging transformer, LadeTrafo, is well suited in situations where earth faults can cause problems with charging electric vehicles as it creates a galvanic separation (new local power grid).

Practical and Easier Installation

The LadeTrafo is based on the Noratel low-loss transformer which has had low idle losses and suppresses the starting current so that the connection to normal residual courses is possible without problems with the fuses blowing out.  The recommended protection is therefore a 16A combi-automatic switch Type A, C- characteristic.

The LadeTrafo is small and therefore space-saving and can easily be mounted on a wall, which simplifies installation and lowers installation costs.

Earth Fault Circuit Breaker
New regulations (NEK 400:2018-722 standard) require that all new current courses to be used to charge electric vehicles must have an earth fault protection/ earth fault circuit breaker Type B. The charging station has built-in earth fault protection for AC (30mA) and DC-RCM module (6mA) which takes care of the DC-protection (according to IEC61851) and means that you do not need earth fault protection type B installed in the fuse box. 

Assembly/ Installation

After receiving your charging station from us, you can easily install it by contacting one of our installation partners or your local electrician. By agreement, our partners will visit you for an inspection and will provide a price quote for installation that is right for your particular case.
